Roman"; mso-bidi-theme-font:minor-bidi;} </style> <![endif] Anh Bùi Văn Hòa là hội viên CCB Chi hội thôn Đài E, xã Lê Lợi, huyện Hoành Bồ, tỉnh Quảng Ninh. Tháng 12-1969, anh đi bộ đội. Sau 20 năm phục vụ trong lực lượng vũ trang, tháng 4-1989 anh chuyển ngành về Nhà máy nhiệt điện Phả Lại và năm 1994 nghỉ hưu tại đây. 

Năm 1995 Đài E còn heo hút lắm. Những ngày đầu ở đây gia đình anh rất khó khăn. Vốn liếng chắt chiu chỉ đủ xây một ngôi nhà nhỏ hai gian lợp ngói. Anh được bà con giúp đỡ từ cân thóc giống, người giúp 10kg gạo, người cho vay 20kg thóc. Tình cảm đùm bọc ấy còn sâu đậm đến ngày nay. Không thể quanh quẩn với cách làm ăn cũ, anh bàn với vợ mạnh dạn vay vốn đầu tư xây dựng 15 gian nhà, nuôi gà giống. Anh đến các cơ sở nuôi gà ở địa phương học tập kỹ thuật, rồi đọc sách kỹ thuật để trang bị cho mình những kiến thức cần thiết. Năm cao nhất anh nuôi tới 3 ngàn con gà, 300 vịt đẻ và hàng trăm ngan lai. Trừ chi phí, mỗi năm gia đình thu nhập 60-70 triệu đồng.

Nhận thấy cây dưa hấu thích hợp với đất cát pha, lại cần ít nước, năm 2005, anh không cấy lúa, chuyển hẳn sang trồng dưa hấu. Anh lên tận Viện giống và cây trồng T.Ư tìm hiểu kỹ thuật rồi đi thăm các mô hình trồng dưa giỏi. Trở về, những năm đầu, anh trồng khoảng 6 sào, sau tăng dần lên 1,5 mẫu, năm cao nhất tới 2,2 mẫu. Dưa hấu trung bình thu hoạch 1 tấn/sào, cao nhất có thể đạt 1,3 đến 1,4 tấn/sào. Được chăm bón đúng quy trình kỹ thuật, dưa hấu của anh đạt loại 1, lại sản xuất bảo đảm an toàn thực phẩm, nên dễ tiêu thụ và được giá, khách hàng tận Vĩnh Phúc, Thái Nguyên, Hải Phòng, Hạ Long đều đưa xe đến tận nhà mua dưa của anh.

Ngoài ra anh còn nhận đất rừng, trồng 9,3 ha keo, 1 ha thông nhựa, anh đã bán 4 ha keo, thu về 180 triệu đồng. Nhớ nghĩa tình giúp đỡ của đồng đội và các hộ gia đình trong thôn những năm gian truân lập nghiệp, CCB Bùi Văn Hoà hằng năm đều dành một phần giống cây, giống con, hướng dẫn, giúp đỡ lại bà con cùng sản xuất, chăn nuôi.

Nhờ cần cù lao động và ý chí vươn lên, ngày nay Bùi Văn Hòa đã có một cơ ngơi khang trang, hàng chục ha rừng trồng, các tài sản và phương tiện cần thiết cho sản xuất và sinh hoạt, với giá trị nhiều tỷ đồng. Hai con anh chăm ngoan học giỏi, một cháu đang học đại học năm thứ 5, một cháu đã tốt nghiệp cao đẳng sư phạm và đi nhận công tác. Gia đình anh năm nào cũng được nhân dân trong thôn bình bầu là “Gia đình văn hóa”, bản thân anh là hội viên CCB xuất sắc.
