như một nhất tề vùng lên tiến hành cuộc Tổng khởi nghĩa, đập tan ách thống trị của thực dân, phong kiến, giành chính quyền về tay nhân dân.

Thắng lợi của Cách mạng Tháng Tám năm 1945 đã để lại cho chúng ta nhiều bài học hết sức quý báu. Một trong những bài học đó là phát huy sức mạnh đại đoàn kết toàn dân tộc dưới sự lãnh đạo của Đảng. Với vai trò là hạt nhân lãnh đạo, Đảng ta tập hợp mọi lực lượng, mọi tầng lớp nhân dân, tạo ra sức mạnh vô song thắng thù trong, giặc ngoài, giành chính quyền về tay nhân dân. Từ bài học đại đoàn kết toàn dân tộc của Tổng khởi nghĩa Tháng Tám, trong suốt 30 năm đấu tranh giải phóng dân tộc, trong sự nghiệp xây dựng và bảo vệ Tổ quốc ngày nay, Đảng và Nhà nước ta đã dựa vào nhân dân, khơi dậy và tập hợp sức mạnh của toàn dân tộc, vượt qua muôn ngàn khó khăn, thử thách đưa cách mạng Việt Nam đi từ thắng lợi này đến thắng lợi khác.

Trong sự nghiệp xây dựng và bảo vệ Tổ quốc hiện nay, bài học phát huy sức mạnh đại đoàn kết toàn dân tộc vẫn còn nguyên giá trị. Tình hình khu vực và thế giới vẫn đang diễn biến phức tạp, khó lường, các thế lực thù địch chưa từ bỏ âm mưu chống phá cách mạng Việt Nam. Một trong những mũi nhọn chống phá của chúng là chia rẽ khối đại đoàn kết toàn dân tộc của chúng ta. Hơn lúc nào hết, chúng ta phải tăng cường, củng cố khối đại đoàn kết toàn dân, huy động cao nhất sức mạnh, trí tuệ của toàn dân thực hiện thắng lợi công cuộc đổi mới vì mục tiêu “Dân giàu, nước mạnh, xã hội công bằng, dân chủ, văn minh”. Đường lối chiến lược nhất quán của cách mạng Việt Nam là: Đại đoàn kết trên nền tảng liên minh giai cấp công nhân với giai cấp nông dân và đội ngũ trí thức dưới sự lãnh đạo của Đảng Cộng sản Việt Nam. Đó cũng là nguồn sức mạnh, động lực chủ yếu và là nhân tố có ý nghĩa quyết định bảo đảm thắng lợi bền vững của sự nghiệp xây dựng và bảo vệ Tổ quốc. Cách mạng nói chung, sự nghiệp đổi mới nói riêng là sự nghiệp của nhân dân dưới sự lãnh đạo của Đảng. Sức mạnh của nhân dân sẽ được nhân lên gấp bội khi được quy tụ thành tổ chức, có sự lãnh đạo thống nhất, sự nỗ lực của toàn dân được hướng vào mục tiêu duy nhất.

Toàn Đảng, toàn dân, toàn quân ta đang ra sức phấn đấu thực hiện mục tiêu: Đến năm 2010, đưa đất nước ta ra khỏi tình trạng kém phát triển, đời sống vật chất và tinh thần của nhân dân được nâng cao rõ rệt, tạo nền tảng đến năm 2020, Việt Nam cơ bản thành một nước công nghiệp theo hướng hiện đại... Để thực hiện thành công mục tiêu này, Đảng ta phải không ngừng củng cố, phát triển, thực sự là một Đảng giàu trí tuệ, trong sạch, vững mạnh, có năng lực lãnh đạo và sức chiến đấu cao với yêu cầu, nhiệm vụ trong thời kỳ mới. Vì thế, phải không ngừng rèn luyện bản lĩnh chính trị, trình độ, năng lực cho đội ngũ cán bộ, đảng viên là phương cách tốt nhất để nâng cao sức mạnh lãnh đạo của Đảng. Điều vô cùng quan trọng là vai trò tiên phong, sự gương mẫu của mỗi cán bộ, đảng viên, là ý thức đặt quyền lợi của đất nước, của dân tộc lên trên hết, là tinh thần “lo trước thiên hạ, vui sau thiên hạ”, một lòng một dạ phụng sự Tổ quốc, phụng sự nhân dân. Nhà nước pháp quyền xã hội chủ nghĩa phải được tập trung xây dựng ngày càng hoàn thiện. Nguyên tắc lãnh đạo tập trung dân chủ; phương châm Đảng lãnh đạo, Nhà nước quản lý, nhân dân làm chủ được tuân thủ một cách nghiêm ngặt. Cuộc đấu tranh phòng, chống quan liêu, tham nhũng, lãng phí phải được tiến hành một cách mạnh mẽ, kiên quyết, hiệu quả hơn; bởi đó là đòi hỏi sống còn đối với Đảng và Nhà nước. Có như vậy mối quan hệ máu thịt giữa Đảng với nhân dân ngày càng thắt chặt, khối đại đoàn kết toàn dân tộc không ngừng được củng cố và phát triển.

Dưới sự lãnh đạo sáng suốt của Đảng, sự quản lý điều hành của một Nhà nước của dân, do dân và vì dân, chúng ta tin tưởng chắc chắn rằng: Trong thời kỳ mới của cách mạng, truyền thống đoàn kết của nhân dân Việt Nam sẽ không ngừng được phát huy, sức mạnh khối đại đoàn kết toàn dân tộc sẽ tiếp tục được tăng cường. Đó cũng là tiếp tục con đường vẻ vang của Cách mạng Tháng Tám.
